satiral comedy at its peak, just some absurd stuff going on here.

everyone gets their moment to shine (genuinely believe rdj wouldve won the oscar for this if heath ledger hadnt dropped a nuclear level performance as the joker), but the stand out for me was tom cruise as the batshit insane les grossman, jesus can that white boy move.

bone chilling stuff, the camera work, the use of colors, that first court room scene... just WOWED by it all.

i dont really have anything smart to say about this movie, the romanticisation of murderers has been a thing for ages, but with the rise of social media, true crime podcasts, and those godawful ryan muprhy shows seeing it become somewhat normalized is so depressing...

THE scene in the court room will be stuck with me forever, the little wave chevalier gives her as shes dragged away from the courtroom... nightmare stuff

this movie is the equivalent of ordering a large meal in your average fast food place, you feel full after eating it, but also dirty, you got the sweats and you contemplate all the decisions you took and how they led you to where you are in life.

an offense to cinema as an art form, amanda seyfried was the saving grace of this movie, because good lord, what a shit storm

story felt a bit predictable and it moved from topic to topic way too fast, i felt it could've left a little breathing between important scenes, but not mad at all with the final project

i left the theater feeling a bit weird about this movie, but after sitting with my thoughts and sleeping on it, i really enjoyed it! amanda is ofc phenomenal here and her voice is as beautiful as ever, lewis pullman also didn't disappoint!! really interesting to see the last two movies from mona fastvold and brady corbet be about people coming to america for a better future.

also fun fact about my showing, age average there was probably 65 me definitely being the youngest person and there were 4 walkouts lmao, they just didn't see the vision </3

i don't know about you. but i'm feeling twenty-two

another 365 days have passed and here i am again, bawling my eyes out to this wonderful movie, it's been a year but i swear it felt like 10.

i spent the whole day thinking of what i'd write on this review, but it boils down to me just being grateful. grateful for my friends, for my family, for my job, for my life. i'm so happy and so loved, i always use this movie as a comparison to how i was a year ago, and since i've started this tradition i'm confidently able to say i've felt happier and more blessed each year that passes.

i know this was very sappy but i'm glad it was, means i'm relishing this remarkable ride!

see you guys next year :D

definitely could've used another 30 minutes or so to go even further on how these dickheads opinions and mindset affect their fans. yes it was nice to see them stumble on their words and backtrack on things they said days apart but what stuck with me the most was the dude who literally lost his brother to suicide, was homeless and starving and was still thanking justin waller and saying he and the tates were his role models, that shit was sickening to witness.

other than that im just filled with dread and sadness, to know that a concerning chunk of people my age and younger than me look up to these troglodytes and believe their lies is terrible.

tyler pleasantly surprised me, and i wished he was in it more. odessa and gwenyth were both spectacular and that fuckass mr.wonderful was decent, the 'im a vampire, i was born in 1601..' KILLED me

jessie buckley was INCREDIBLE, her range of emotions here was astonishing to witness. all of the children gave incredibly solid performances and ofc the standout is little hamnet, what a cute kid omg.

beautifully shot and directed, the way the camera lingers in some scenes, just 10/10 stuff!! but thats all of the praise i can give lol, not to be one of the 'the book was better' people, but THE BOOK WAS BETTER!!! idk why they decided to focus on shakespeare so much, my favorite thing about the book was how his absence was SUCH a big deal in that house!! and here, we spend what i felt like was the majority of the runtime, focusing on a very mid performance by paul mescal, which like, coming from me (paul mescals #1 fan) is saying smth LMAO

i also felt like it cut some very important scenes and shortened the ones they decided to show, like agnes first birth, which in the book is this almost like mad search for her and here we see almost no struggle to locate her in my eyes. idk, i was expecting more of it, especially because the author co-wrote the script :/

ralph fiennes dr.kelson is easily one of the best movie characters to come out of the 2020s, his kindness and eagerness to step up to danger for the sake of others will stay with me for a VERY long time, specially nowadays where kindness seems to be rarer than ever, also 100% need his playlist lol.

This was 1000% a thirst watch, I LOVE Rachel Weisz with all my heart and I only watched this for her, because dear GOD what a waste of a remarkable actress, she was carrying this show on her back...

She's acting her ass off and everyone else is just there... idk man, I wasn't expecting peak fiction but I was expecting something better LMAO.

This anime was recommended to me through my dear friend Harmy, I wasn't really expecting to be so invested in an anime about making a dictionary but boy was I wrong.

Fell in love HARD with all the characters and each episode made me more and more hyped to see The Great Passage be finished, but those feelings turned bittersweet once we skipped THIRTHEEN YEARS, I totally understand why, but man I would've LOVED to see then grow older, Majime and Kaguya's wedding, Nishioka becoming a girl dad (that fits him SO much lmao) but alas, I am content with what I got.

I will most definitely be annoying my future partner by making her watch this lol.

Absolutely devoured this show, a delight to watch!

I'm a huge cinema fan so I knew this would be my shit but good lord IT IS SO MY SHIT!! So many familiar faces, hilarious commentary about the film industry, cool movie techniques used (the oner episode... jesus christ, ITS CINEMA).

Eagerly awaiting for season 2 :)

FAV EPISODES: King of Kings, Beneath a Sky on the Verge of Falling and The Final Mission from the Boss

JJBA is my favorite anime of all time, based on the first 4 parts alone and I had seen up to episode 20 of this part like 5 years ago but for some reason I stopped? I dont really remember why but I decided to pick it back up in order to watch part 7, haven't watched it yet but considering how dogshit netflixs release schedule for it will be I have plenty of time.

An amazing part, with a ridicilous amount of incredible looking characters with remarkable personalites, Bruno is probably my favorite character in the series, he is just THAT guy.

But the downside of having such a phenomenal JoBro, you get a nothingburger of a JoJo, I felt like Giorno and his mission where quite whatever? I felt a little indifferent about him becoming the mafia leader at the end, I know that was the whole point of the season but that was always in the back of my mind, because their relationships were SO SO good and charming to me. But yeah, good season, kind of crazy a 15 year old is in charge of god knows how many henchmen and the politics of it all LMAO.

BOCCHI THE ROCK! 2022

FAV EPISODES: Be Right There, Flightless Fish and Bocchi the Rock

Really fun and creative anime, I really loved how many different animation styles it uses, specially for the gags, just soooo charming and exciting.

Music wise its FILLED with bangers and I caught myself wanting to listen to them more often, I'd definitely go see them live if they were a real band lol.

My biggest complaint would probably be how often we are reminded of Bocchi's anxiety, like WE GET IT SHES SOCIALLY ANXIOUS, but it is really nice to see her come out of her shell as the season went on.

Workplace comedy at It's finest, I ofc knew I'd like this considering they are the same people who made Superstore!

Has some growing pains and more awkward plot lines than I'd like but that is to be expected out of a first season, we are establishing the characters and their dynamics.

My favorite characters so far, are Matt, Serena and Alex!

BRAVO VINCE LMAO!

rhea seehorn is absolutely wonderful and i dont think many actresses couldve done what she did here, the amount of time we spend with just carol, and how much we feel for her, her acting falls nothing short of spectacular!!!

sooooo many fucking implications, how manipulative the hive is towards the non affected people, them saying they wont harvest the stem cells without her consent but EXPLICITLY BREAKING SAID CONSENT BY USING HER EGGS!!! just so many layers to this show.

i have so many thoughts about it, which means i absolutely loved it LMAO

I was itching for a nice romance book and this was just what I was looking for!

I really enjoyed my time with it but I wished it was longer LMAO, I feel like it wrapped every single topic it decided to talk about quite well but I cant help but want more of Clementine and Iwan (crazy name btw).

I'm sure there's a reason as to why the author decided to not show us Clementine and Alanea's conversation after she travelled to the apartment for the last time but man I would've loved to see it.

All that said, great book, funny, charming, smut pages are well written lol and it leaves you with a nice message.

The Lying Life of Adults 2019

by Elena Ferrante

RATING: ★★★½
DATE STARTED: 03/04/2026
DATE FINISHED: 10/04/2026

My first Elena Ferrante woohoo!! The prose was PHENOMENAL, the way she writes about these characters, just so so positively overwhelmed by the details and care with each character.

It felt like I was transported to 90s Naples, I've never set foot in Italy but man, it felt like I was the one who grew up there, all the streets and places that are mentioned felt so lively, incredible stuff.

The story itself had a pretty strong start but I felt like it fell through once we reach the revelation of Andrea and Costanzas affair. Don't get me wrong, its pretty decent, but I was expecting more considering how well regarded Elena Ferrante's writing is in my friend circles.

I did gasp when we find out the origin of the bracelet lol!

But yeah, all of this to say, good book, will definitely check out the neopolitan quartet eventually.

Big Swiss 2023

by Jen Beagin

RATING: ★★★½
DATE STARTED: 26/03/2026
DATE FINISHED: 30/03/2026

I had a very pleasant time reading this unhinged book, Greta and Big Swiss are both deeply flawed and troubled people and I loved them for it, they are both so nasty (especially Greta) with each other but also so passionate.

I felt like the city itself was very alive and the supporting characters were all quite interesting(shout out to my GOAT Sabine, so glad she got the help she needed), really enjoyed reading the transcripts and Greta's little interjections.

My biggest complaint would be Greta and Big Swiss' final conversation, it felt small and rushed, much like the ending, but maybe that's just me wanting to drawn out the story haha.

A hora da estrela 1977

RATING: -----
DATE STARTED: 24/03/2026
DATE FINISHED: 25/03/2026

cant really give it a rating, read this for a new book club im a part of!

the prose is great but quite confusing, i dont have the habit on reading in portuguese so maybe thats why i struggled with it more than other books but i definitely see myself returning to this book, the last few pages where it explained the relation of macabea to clarice did make me think of the book in a different way

my main complaint is that the first few pages are hard to get through, the narrator complaining got tired quickly

its currently 01:28am, i just finished reading the book. its great.

id like to thank my friend harmon for recommending it to me, i love you so much bud.

love really moves mountains (and donkey kong machines across america). as a person who has identified themselves with the 'gamer' nomenclature since they were a small child the use of games to escape reality and as a tool for bonding really hit several spots lol.

i felt a little lukewarm about the plot, it was good dont get me wrong but when i reached that chapter a switch flipped and i sped through the book, and boy was it worth it. i can 100% see myself rereading this book and ill make sure to appreciate and take more from marx, we should all strive to be tamers of horses

Writers & Lovers 2020

Tenth book of the year woohoo!

There's just something about reading about writers being in love man, its GREAT. I absolutely fell in love with Casey and all her quirks, I felt like I've known her my entire life. I think the book does a great job with all of themes King decided to tackle, but I did feel like it could've put even more focus on Silas side of things, maybe I'm misremembering some things, but I felt like Oscar and his kids had way more attention, and perhaps that was the point? I felt like Silas did match her better but we didn't know as much about him, but I did really enjoy the ending specially the fucking David Byrne concert and him shouting out Mary!!

really enjoyed all the astronaut talk as well, i could feel their passion through the pages

The Last Wish 1993

good collection of short stories. i know very little about the witcher franchise so i had no expectations, but safe to say i was pleasantly surprised for the most time.

the stories were well written and very entertaining, but i did feel like they had a lot of misogyny slip through the cracks, idk if it was because of the medieval setting or the authors humour.

geralt is a good protagonist and whenever he had a companion by his side i felt like he shined a little brighter, seeing him conflicted at times was very nice.

the setting itself was a bit confusing for me but that's a given for me with stories with a lot of places, kings, gods and mayors lol

all of that said, i will probably read the following books, i really want to see how geralt and yennifers relationship develops

Half His Age 2026

absolutely inhaled the book, mostly due to the way she writes and the chapters are setup.

so many moments had me in an uncomfortable hold, where i wanted to stop reading it but couldnt, when korgi mentioned linklater i died a little.

felt the ending was a bit abrupt im going to be honest and i felt very sad for her mom.

korgy is an absolute loser who didnt deserve his wife and got off pretty good id say, ik frannies intentions werent great but they shouldve come forward and exposed him as the pedophile he was, all his reasonings made me sick but ig that was the point of the book

all that said, i somewhat enjoyed reading it and i hope shes able to write more books, she seems very passionate about writing and im happy for her

i dont have much to say about this book, its simply incredible, extremely well written so funny at times but good lord the lows are VERY low, im really glad to hear that she is doing better and i sincerely hope she continues to do so.

really vibed with the first short story, and would love to see a full book about that dystopian reality, i enjoyed the second and fourth short stories, but felt indifferent after finishing them but oh boy, 'stag dance' the novella that gives the book its title… just wow, floored by it and felt myself thinking a lot about its main character and how i could relate to her experience more than i would like to admit, that one will stick with me for a long time

originally picked it up because park chan-wooks new movie is based on this book but im now wanting to read more of westlakes work
